What is the Interreg Atlantic Area Programme?

Interreg Atlantic Area is a financing instrument of the European Territorial Cooperation that supports transnational cooperation projects between actors of the Atlantic Area, through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

The programme provides a framework for the implementation of joint actions and delivery of better solutions by:

  • Contributing to achieve significant progress towards a cohesive, sustainable and balanced territorial development of the Atlantic regions and their maritime heritage, and
  • Promoting solutions to respond to common challenges of the actors involved, thus reducing the existing regional disparities.
