The Kick off meeting started with the welcome from the host partner and leader of the project, the University of Cantabria with Ruben Aldaco as speaker. Then, first steps of NEPTUNUS were shown and immediate actions (e.g. first progress report, review of plans) were settled down.
Next, Ian Vázquez-Rowe, researcher at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and founding member of MARILCA (Marine impacts in LCA) presented the key note ‘A fine kettle of fish: the fishing industry and environmental impacts’.
The meeting continued with the presentation of the working groups and the lines of research and interest of each partner.
After lunch, the 8 Work packages of NEPTUNUS were defended by the WP leaders, with open discussion and contributions.
