The European Researchers Night took place last Friday 30th of September. This event is part of the European project G9 Missions of the G9 Universities, coordinated by the University of Cantabria, being one of its objectives the dissemination of the European Union missions. The event took place simultaneously in 14 Spanish cities, including more than 500 different activities. In addition, this celebration has taken place at the same time in more than 25 countries and in a total of 370 European cities.
In Santander, this event was attended by more than 300 researchers from the University of Cantabria, carrying out a wide range of activities for all audiences. Such activities were very well received, since, according to data from the organization, more than 6,000 people came to Pombo square last Friday.
The Neptunus Project could not miss this important date with science. The researcher Sandra Ceballos was at the stand of the Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Department (University of Cantabria), presenting the project to the many participants who came by. Project activities and pencils were distributed to children, whereas the prototype of the eco-label was presented to all public, since, hopefully, the eco-label will be soon available in fishmongers.
The European Night of Researchers in Santander has been organized by the Scientific and Innovation Unit from the University of Cantabria. This scientific dissemination event has had the collaboration of the European Comission, among other national and regional institutions.
