7th April 2022

The VI Biannual meeting was held last Thursday 7th April in the headquarters of Instituto Português do Mar e da Atmosfera (hereinafter IPMA) in Lisbon. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, some partners participated in the meeting via online.

The meeting started with the welcome of the participants and continued with the presentation of the progress in each Work Package, including the work developed between the end of 2021 and the first three months of 2022 and the expected actions for incoming months.

With the methodological guidelines finished, the development of a new tool for the calculation of environmental impacts and footprints is ongoing besides seminars and training activities about the proposed methodologies are soon expected. Capitalization, coming congresses and events, new publications or parallel projects, were among the discussed issues. Several proposals and agreements were settled down.

After the meeting, partners had the opportunity to visit Conserveira de Lisboa where Tiago Ferreira kindly explained everything about the company, from how it was founded in 1930 to date. The canning processes, their concern about the preservation of the marine ecosystem along with their eco-friendly policies were among the topics of the visit.

At the end of the day, partners shared a delicious dinner based on seafood products in the restaurant Taberna Albricoque.

After two years of restrictions, it was nice to be able to have a face-to-face meeting. Obrigada to IPMA team for their kindness and hospitality!
